PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX INCREASE PUBLIC NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON TAX INCREASE WEBB COUNTY COURTHOUSE 1000 HOUSTON STREET, 2ND FLOOR LAREDO, TEXAS 78040 Monday, September 8, 2014 @ 9:00 a.m.   This is the 2nd of Two (2) Public Hearings to consider the tax increase. This public hearing will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Webb County Courthouse, Second Floor, 1000 Houston St., Laredo, TX, 78040. You have the right and are encouraged to attend the hearing and make comments if you wish.

1.					Roll Call by Honorable Margie Ramirez-Ibarra, Webb County Clerk
2.					Open Public Hearing on Tax Increase (pursuant to Chapter 26, Tax Code) by Honorable Danny Valdez, Webb County Judge.
3.					Public Hearing on Tax Increase. Last year, the Webb County property tax rate was 0.420055. That rate raised $67,122,546 in revenues, a portion of which was used to fund maintenance and operations such as for road and bridge, law enforcement, judicial functions, count government, health and welfare, recreation and culture, community service, and other sources and uses.  This year, Webb County is proposing a property tax rate of 0.414700. That rate will raise $74,695,622 which is $7,573,076 more in revenues than that raised by taxes imposed last year.
4.					Announcement of the meeting to vote on adopting the proposed tax rate will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014, at 9:00 a.m., at the Webb County Courthouse, Second Floor, Commissioners Court, 1000 Houston St., Laredo, TX 78040.
