COMMISSIONERS COURT MEETING WEBB COUNTY COURTHOUSE 1000 HOUSTON STREET, 2ND FLOOR LAREDO, TEXAS 78040 SEPTEMBER 28, 2020 9:00 a.m. On March 16, at the Attorney General's request, Gov. Greg Abbott utilized Section 418.016 of the Government Code to suspend certain requirements of the Texas Open Meetings Act (TOMA) in light of the ongoing COVID-19 emergency. Tex. Gov't. Code Ann. Section 418.016 (Vernon 2017). The Governor suspended provisions of TOMA that require a quorum of the governing body and the general public to be together in a single location in order to allow videoconference or telephonic meetings. Status report with discussion and possible action to schedule interviews of the top ranking architectural firms for Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 2020-012 “Architectural Services for Webb County Fairgrounds & Agricultural Exposition Center” and any other matters incident thereto. [3900-7230-001-474501 (Fairgrounds Project Series 2019A - Construction in Progress-Administration)] Issue: Commissioners Court on August 10, 2020, terminated the previous architectural firms contract for convenience. A new solicitation was authorized and the Purchasing Agent secured twenty (20) formal proposals for this project. The evaluation team has completed their rankings in accordance with the weighted criteria published in the RFQ. Solution: Select the number of top ranking firms Commissioners Court would like to interview and schedule the date(s) for those interviews for final selection. Result: Interviews will be scheduled and Commissioners Court will be provided with the corresponding number of proposals for their individual review prior to meeting(s). |
