Official Minutes for Webb County Commissioners Court Special Meeting Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM (Approved January 23, 2017)

Let it be remembered that a special meeting of the Webb County Commissioners Court was held at 2:00 p.m. at the regular meeting place with the following members present to wit: Tano E. Tijerina,                                 County Judge Jesse Gonzalez,                                 Commissioner, Pct. 1 Rosaura "Wawi" Tijerina,                    Commissioner, Pct. 2 John C. Galo,                                      Commissioner, Pct. 3 Thus constituting a quorum, the Commissioners Court proceeded to act upon the Agenda as posted in the meeting notice of the 29th day of December 2016. Present also were Mrs. Virginia M. Rodriguez, Deputy County Clerk representing Mrs. Margie Ramirez Ibarra, Ex-officio Clerk of the Commissioners Court, various officers and others interested in the business of the Court.

	1.				Roll Call by Honorable Margie Ramirez-Ibarra, Webb County Clerk
					Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo, seconded by County Judge Tano E. Tijerina to excuse Cmr. Canales
					Vote: 4 - 0 Motion Carried
					Other: Commissioner, Pct. 4 Jaime Alberto Canales (ABSENT)

					Communications were led by Commissioner John C. Galo, Commissioner Rosaura "Wawi" Tijerina, Commissioner Jesse Gonzalez, and Judge Tano E. Tijerina.
	4.				Public Comment - This section provides the public the opportunity to address the Commissioners Court on any items on the Agenda. Members of the public wishing to participate must complete a Witness Card specifying which agenda item they wish to comment on. Each public member will be allowed a total of Three (3) minutes within which to make any/all public comments.

Discussion and possible action to approve the filling of the following vacant slots and authorize waiver of county policy to authorize filling these positions effective January 2, 2017, a date other than the start of a payroll period; subject to the availability of payroll funds and any applicable Civil Service guidelines, effective January 2, 2017; and any other matters incident thereto.    Slot # Title Hourly Rate   1915 Commissioner Assistant $20.37-$21.42 - 18/A-E 2711 Community Events Coordinator $20.37-$21.42 - 18/A-E
					Cmr. Gonzalez stated that Slot #1915 will start at 18/E and Slot #2711 will start at 18/A.
