Let it be remembered that a emergency meeting of the Webb County Commissioners Court was held at 9:30 a.m. at the regular meeting place with the following members present to wit:
Thus constituting a quorum, the Commissioners Court proceeded to act upon the Agenda as posted in the meeting notice of the 12th day of March 2020. Present also were various officers and others interested in the business of the Court. |

COURT TO DISCUSS AND ACT ON THE FOLLOWING: | ||||||||

3. | Discussion with possible action regarding the imminent threat to public health and safety as a result of the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), as declared by the World Health Organization as a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Matters to be discussed are as follows:

Motion by County Judge Tano E. Tijerina, seconded by Commissioner, Pct 4 Cindy Liendo to suspend all County related travel for the departments under the purview of Commissioners Court, from today forward; for the next thirty (30) days | ||||||||
Vote: 5 - 0 Motion Carried | ||||||||
Judge Tijerina announced that a COVID-19 work screening questionnaire will be provided to all county employees by HR. | ||||||||
Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 1 Jesse Gonzalez, seconded by Commissioner, Pct. 2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina to keep the community centers in operation; but hold the participation of prolong periods of time in the centers | ||||||||

Discussion was made by Administrative Judge, Joe Lopez regarding the suspension of civil/criminal trials and jury duty. He also provided recommendation that was given to him by the Office of Court Administration (OCA). | ||||||||
Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo, seconded by County Judge Tano E. Tijerina to pass a resolution to follow the recommendation of the Office of Court Administration | ||||||||

HR Director, Mr. Ernesto Guajardo and Risk Management Director, Dr. Pedro Alfaro discussed protocols regarding employees who are sick and/or who get tested for COVID-19. | ||||||||
Motion by County Judge Tano E. Tijerina, seconded by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo to provide paid leave for employees when they or a member of their household tests positive for COVID-19; accruals must be used when an employee has tested negative for COVID-19 | ||||||||
